Absolute Studios is situated a short 3-minute walk from Parson’s Green tube station.  There is plenty of parking available locally on Sundays.  There are local shops and supermarkets where you will be able to buy your lunch from.

 

The Team

Michelle Lewis is a co-founder of R&R who trained as a physiotherapist at Kings.  Michelle’s London physiotherapy base is the Octopus Clinic.  She has worked in some of London’s most prolific physiotherapy practices, including Six Physio, Beyond Health and the renowned King Edward VII private hospital.  She has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in the City, West London and in Harley Street. Michelle is fully qualified in Acupuncture.  She has also completed courses in mat work and equipment pilates, and has a certificate in Strength and Conditioning Training, both of which she applies to her specialist interest in function and movement.

Her passion is helping her patients recover from injury, move more efficiently and return to full fitness. Her ultimate goal is to arm her clients with the best understanding and tools on how to reduce the risk of injury in the long term.  Michelle is currently writing a definitive guide to back pain in collaboration with Lucy Nifontova and a leading spinal consultant.

 

Luke Meessmann has dual degrees in Exercise Science and Exercise Rehabilitation, Luke has been helping people to take control of their bodies in the UK for over 12 years.  With well over 15,000 hours of hands on experience behind him, and multiple Pilates qualifications to add to his two degrees, Luke can be considered a true expert in the fields of Dynamic Pilates and Exercise Rehabilitation. Luke is a master of Dynamic Reformer training and a renowned teacher trainer, having authored several training manuals and trained countless instructors to date.

Luke combines his inherent affinity for precise technique with true Aussie affability to ensure his clients get the best out of themselves and have a good time doing so.  As head trainer of the fantastic team at Absolute Studios, Luke’s aim is for you to enjoy an absolutely ‘best in class’ experience each time you visit.  Whether your aim is general improvement in health and fitness or indeed recovery from an injury, Luke will (either directly or indirectly) ensure you are guided safely and swiftly towards your goal of a more healthy, fit and functional you!

When he’s not instructing clients or fellow trainers, Luke enjoys spending his spare time training himself, (read running around after his 3 young children), playing music or watching his beloved Chelsea win another title!

 

Lucy Nifontova is a co-founder of Restore and Reform and a former spinal patient who suffered from lower back pain caused by lumbar disc degeneration for nearly two decades.  Never finding the time to do her exercises and spending hours at her desk working in the City, she started doing weekly physiotherapy with Michelle. Five spinal injections and one spinal fusion later, through a comprehensive physiotherapy programme, doing daily exercises and a through love of Reformer Pilates, she has learned to manage her pain and her lifestyle.

Having been through what many of our clients are going through, Lucy understands the struggles that they face and is passionate about helping them learn how to make the changes required for a successful recovery. Lucy is a Reformer Pilates instructor with STOTT and has a special interest in injury rehabilitation.  She regularly attends lectures and seminars on the subject of back pain and spinal conditions.  Lucy is currently writing a definitive guide to back pain in collaboration with Michelle Lewis and a leading spinal consultant.

 

Abigail Smith trained as a Soft Tissue Therapist at the London School of Soft tissue therapy and has earned a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy. She then went on to gain an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation. She is fully qualified in medical acupuncture, as well as pre and postnatal massage. Abi has worked with amateur and elite athletes across different sports, including Saracens premiership rugby team as well as British Olympic athletes.  Abi works as a Soft Tissue Therapist with Restore and Reform and also in a private practice in central London alongside running her own sport injury rehab practice, Rehab 360. Abi combines an excellent understanding of exercise-based rehabilitation, with a passion for hands-on therapy. Her focus is to help people understand their injury, guide them through their recovery and get them back doing the activities they love.  (www.rehab360.com)
