LUCY NIFONTOVA

Lucy is a Reformer Pilates instructor with STOTT and has a special interest in injury rehabilitation.  She regularly attends lectures and seminars on the subject of back pain and spinal conditions.

OUR STORY

Restore and Reform was founded in 2017 by physiotherapist Michelle and her patient Lucy.  Having returned to work following a spinal fusion surgery, Lucy was finding it difficult to find the time needed to dedicate to her recovery. Frustrated with her progress, she decided the only way to kick-start her recovery would be to take a break from her routine and dedicate a week to her rehabilitation. The vital ingredients she needed were warmth, an onsite physiotherapist, a reformer Pilates instructor who understood injuries, and a soft tissue massage therapist. Unfortunately, they couldn’t be found anywhere.

Not to be defeated, Lucy travelled to the sunshine and participated in a rehabilitation programme devised and managed remotely by Michelle, her physiotherapist based in London.  Within a week Lucy went from having very restricted mobility to being capable of hour-long sessions of Pilates, physiotherapy exercises and swimming.

One week of an intensive rehabilitation programme had achieved months’ worth of treatment. Realising that there was a gap in the market for dedicated recovery time with injury specialists led to Lucy and Michelle founding Restore and Reform.
